Who Am I?
I’m Kayla Hoston, a senior in the UNM Film and Digital Arts Department with a concentration in Video Game Design and a minor in Arts Leadership and Business. I’m a multimedia designer and artist with a deep passion for graphics and bringing interactive works to life through color, pixel placement, animation, editing, and more. My love for video games reaches back to childhood, and every piece of media I’ve absorbed since then has shaped my style, fueled my innovation, and inspired me to carve out something fresh and unprecedented in the art and gaming industries.
I thrive in collaborative environments, and my growing passion for promotional work and brand marketing has not only helped me build my own identity as an artist, but also allowed me to support others in launching their careers.
Over the past decade, my artistic practice has led me to explore a wide range of styles and taught me how to adapt to any visionary’s needs. I’ve been fortunate to have my work recognized early on, including qualifying as a medalist in the Texas State Art Competition in high school. To me, each piece I create is more than a story—it’s a reflection of my growth, my willingness to experiment, and my drive to push beyond traditional boundaries.
As I continue my journey, I hope to create work that is both beautiful and meaningful that builds upon everything I’ve learned and leave a lasting impact.
